Anthony Burrill – Innocent Targets

Anthony Burrill - Innocent Targets

Anthony Burrill has created a series of posters with photographer Robbie Augspurger to bring attention to the 100,000 Americans shot every year as a result of gun violence. Burrill’s boldness and wit neatly highlight the fact that the terrorists and the zombies that feature in the targets across the 18,000 shooting ranges in the US are a distant fantasy from the reality that most of the time, the victims are our friends, neighbours or children.

Innocent Targets is launching at Protein on 12 November, with print sales of the poster targets going towards The Coalition To Stop Gun Violence. The project is an initiative of creative studio Banana and Associates.

Mat Maitland for Hunter Original AW14

The designs for the two posters can be seen across London as part of of the race wayfinding and other signage, as well as across the transport network. Widely praised as fresh and eye-catching but in the spirit of the great transport posters of the past, Adrian’s designs are also available to buy from the London Transport Museum shop.
