Jim Stoten

Jim Stoten’s drawings consist of vast, intricate landscapes which are filled with the lives of tuba playing elephants, joyful, dancing robots and crocodiles eating ice cream. The buildings in Jim Stoten’s work often chat to each other, the town mayor drives a huge floating diamond-shaped car while a enormous gorilla drinks tea with an erudite hedgehog. Each image is a feast for the eyes, the more time you invest into following the interactions between different characters, the more meanings spring from the scenes. Over the last several years Jim’s unique world has featured in commissions for an impressive list of clients including MTV, Habitat, Levi’s, Urban Outfitters and The Guardian, whilst he frequently exhibits his work in galleries around the globe.
