Last night at Kemistry Gallery in London, film magazine Little White Lies launched their exhibition LWL70. Among the list of top-drawer makers invited to create a print inspired by a film from the 1970’s were Big Active’s very own Jesse Auersalo, Siggi Eggertsson and Jim Stoten. The show runs until 2nd July, while the prints are available for purchase here.

Big Active artist Jim Stoten and Brooklyn-based artist Mike Perry were invited to paint a mural in the Human Empire shop in Hamburg. Given free reign except for a show title of Eat Me, Jim and Mike emptied the shop and painted straight onto the walls. As Jim reported, The theme of the whole thing, in the tees we did for it and the zine and the prints, was food. So we painted a restaurant scene on all three walls of the shop. It took us 4 days, about 19 hours a day, and it was absolutely brilliant. Eating burgers, drinking beer and painting things.

Jim Stoten & Mike Perry are in Hamburg to paint a mural on the wall of the Human Empire store. They’ll be showing some new collaborative drawings plus tees and prints too. The store will be open late on Friday 12th November, so if you’re in town, drop by and say hello.
