Jasper Goodall Speaks To Varoom
This month’s excellent Varoom magazine features Jasper Goodall in conversation with John Vernon Lord, Paul Burgess and Jim Stoten. All four image makers share a common interest in having taught illustration at the University of Brighton. They chat about their views on contemporary illustration, art education and professional life in a wide ranging discussion that also asks why illustrators have a fondness for beards – well these four at any rate! Jasper also created the provocative cover image for the issue. ‘Tigress’ is a work in progress and part of a series of images exploring fantasy – the intention being that the final image is output on transparent film and photographed whilst held up in front of a model. ‘Evil Mickey’ is another image from the series and accompanies the feature.
