Mallorca Rocks is the bad-ass brother of Ibiza Rocks. The brand new Mallorca Rocks Hotel opened it’s doors with a sell out show by The Kooks, Zane Lowe and Bombay Bicycle Club. Designed in collaboration with Big Active the hotel features more shows this summer by The Prodigy, Dizzy Rascal, Calvin Harris, The Courteeners and Pendulum. ‘The look and feel of the hotel are a natural extension of the work we’ve developed for Ibiza Rocks for over the past four years’ says creative director Gerard Saint, ‘these last few months have been a really busy time getting everything together, so it’s amazing to now see the place really come to life…’ Designer Markus Karlsson described the opening as ‘an absolutely crazy party – no sleep for 24 hours…’ Big Active are design directors for the Ibiza Rocks and Mallorca Rocks brands. Respect.

Ibiza Rocks is THE festival of the summer – and over the last 12 weeks the new venue at the the Ibiza Rocks Hotel has seen sell out shows fom the likes of Ting Tings, The Enemy, Dizzee Rascal and MGMT. This years season wraps up next week with The Klaxons in what we can imagine will be a pretty amazing closing party.  Big Active’s creative director Gerard Saint and designer Markus Karlsson have just got back from the island after a pretty crazy 36 hours – respect…

The fourth season of Ibiza Rocks is now well underway and rocks the island each week right through to September. This year the festival launches it’s brand new club night ‘Reclaim The Dance Floor‘ – which like it’s bastard brother is destined to stir things up on the white island. ‘Reclaim The Dance Floor’ aims to inspire; kicking against an island club-scene all too reliant upon an ageing crowd and tiresome VIP culture. Instead the event invites a new generation to ‘Reclaim the Dancefloor’ and reclaim the original spirit of Ibiza. No ridiculous entry fees, overpriced drinks or ageing VIP’s… The line-up this year features 5 live appearances from 2ManyDJs, plus Radio 1’s Zane Lowe and Kissy Sellout, dynamic dance duo Digitalism, DJ sets from festival headliners Pendulum and rising stars Chase & Status. Oh, and by the way ‘Reclaim The Dance Floor’s brand new identity has of course been designed by Big Active.

2008 marked our third season working with Ibiza Rocks. And the highlight this summer quite apart from all the legendary shows (The Enemy and Pendulum being our particular favorites), was the opening of the Ibiza Rocks Hotel. Situated in San Antonio, the three hundred and fifty room Ibiza Rocks Hotel is now the spiritual home of the festival, host to many of the events and and ground zero for the excess and debauched partying of many of it’s punters. And if you’re too fucked to find your way back to your room after a muther of a night out, we’ve designed the giant logo in the swimming pool so that it should be visible on google maps – assuming you haven’t lost your i-phone somewhere along the way…
